Charitable Radio provides a platform to inform and entertain individuals, companies and organisations who want to make a positive impact by supporting others. The station gives a voice to all charity fundraising initiatives , small and large whilst celebrating the efforts of all. It is run as a not-for-private-profit basis, a social enterprise with all surplus profits being distributed to worthy causes. Distribution of the funds are managed by the team and an appointed advisory board.

We’re hitting the pause button and fast forwarding to 2023!
From 30 June 2022, Charitable Radio will hit the pause button on it’s output.
What’s next for Charitable Radio? Since our launch in May 2021 we blazed a trail of #RadioforGood, the first of our kind. Amazing music from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. Our incredible line-up of presenters 7 days a week. Charity and celebrity interviews. The #GoodNewsNews sharing the great work of charities every day. #FundraisingFriday with JustGiving amplifying great people raising money for good causes. Competitions giving free air time to charities. Charities of the month with iRaiser and PayPal Giving Fund. Unique shows about mental health and wellbeing. The list is endless.
We are so proud of what we have created, and grateful to our amazing team. Now we’re taking a breather, thinking and planning how to make Charitable Radio even better. We will be back, bigger, bolder, better in 2023! If you’d like to be involved in #RadioforGood contact us at help@charitable.radio and tell us more! Thank you.
If there is one thing that the pandemic has brought to the forefront of our minds it is the human desire to help others. We have seen the amazing work of Captain Sir Tom (RIP), Marcus Rashford and the whole nation applauding for the great work and resilience shown by NHS and other front-line teams. Mary Portas talks about The Kindness Economy when referring to the regeneration of the high street. Charitable Radio harnesses this energy and desire in all of us by running the ‘go to’ platform for all things human-KIND.
People who volunteer, start their own fundraising initiatives, donate to and promote good causes for charities of any age, gender, orientation, religion, colour or race although we will be non-secular avoiding the possibility of being seen favouring any religion. Charitable Radio is available and suitable for all bound by a common desire and drive to support charitable outcomes. The common denominator is the desire to be informed and engaged with a shared goal of bringing good causes to light and celebrating those who support them.
We’re playing music spanning the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and right up to date delivered by a professional team of radio presenters. This output is fun, engaging and a good listen for everyone with national news and weather on the hour. There is a Good News feature created to share achievements and celebrate all things uplifting. The content includes larger fundraising initiatives like Race for Life, Macmillan Coffee Morning, Movember, London Marathon, as well as grassroots, local charities and it reflects all communities. We are a radio station with a purpose to support good causes wherever they are by supporting those flying the flag to help people, animals and the planet.
A significant increase in demand for services at the same time as a massive reduction in funding hit the charity sector hard during the Covid-19 pandemic, with charities across the UK facing an estimated funding shortfall in excess of a staggering £10 billion! With events cancelled, charity shops closed and face-to-face fundraising an impossibility during lockdown there is an immediate fundraising need to cover day-to-day expenses and cash flow, as well as a need for long term and sustainable funding for growth and future projects. As we emerge and grow from the impact of the pandemic we will support the diversity of the third sector, from larger charities to individual fundraisers that struggle for awareness, to social enterprises and those embracing corporate and community social responsibility.
Equality, diversity, integrity and fairness are qualities Charitable Radio live by both on and off air. #RadioforGood
